Method
- Step 1: Prepare the Tofu
- Pat the tofu dry using a paper towel and cut it into cubes. This helps it absorb flavors better and gives it a firmer texture when cooked.
- Step 2: Heat the Oil
- In a non-stick pan or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
- Step 3: Add Aromatics
- Add grated ginger and a pinch of asafetida (hing). Stir gently for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Step 4: Cook the Tofu
- Add the tofu cubes and lightly pan-fry until they turn golden on all sides. This should take about 5–7 minutes.
- Step 5: Add Vegetables
- Add the string beans and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 5–6 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
- Step 6: Season the Dish
- Sprinkle in:
- Five spice powder
- Black pepper
- Paprika powder
- Oregano
- Dill
- Himalayan salt
- Mix everything well so the spices coat the tofu and vegetables evenly.
- Step 7: Final Stir
- Cook for another 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend beautifully
Use firm or extra-firm tofu for best texture Don’t overcook the beans ,keep them slightly crunchy for better taste and nutrition Adjust spices to suit your flavor preference
