Ingredients
  

  • 200 g firm tofu cubed
  • 2 cups fresh string beans washed and trimmed
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafetida hing
  • 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • Himalayan salt to taste

  • 1 Non-stick pan or wok
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Sharp knife
  • 1 Spatula or wooden spoon
  • 1 Mixing bowl

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Tofu
  2. Pat the tofu dry using a paper towel and cut it into cubes. This helps it absorb flavors better and gives it a firmer texture when cooked.
  3. Step 2: Heat the Oil
  4. In a non-stick pan or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Step 3: Add Aromatics
  6. Add grated ginger and a pinch of asafetida (hing). Stir gently for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
  7. Step 4: Cook the Tofu
  8. Add the tofu cubes and lightly pan-fry until they turn golden on all sides. This should take about 5–7 minutes.
  9. Step 5: Add Vegetables
  10. Add the string beans and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 5–6 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still slightly crisp.
  11. Step 6: Season the Dish
  12. Sprinkle in:
  13. Five spice powder
  14. Black pepper
  15. Paprika powder
  16. Oregano
  17. Dill
  18. Himalayan salt
  19. Mix everything well so the spices coat the tofu and vegetables evenly.
  20. Step 7: Final Stir
  21. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend beautifully
  22. Use firm or extra-firm tofu for best texture Don’t overcook the beans ,keep them slightly crunchy for better taste and nutrition Adjust spices to suit your flavor preference
