Ingredients
- 12 oz Tofu Drained And Pressed Dry
- 4 tbsp Potato Starch
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil 1 Tbsp Reserved For Brushing Onto Tofu Pieces
- 1 tsp Olive Oil For Sauteing The Vegetables
- 1 Jalapeno Diced
- 2 Green Onion Chopped
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Freshly Minced
Spice Mix
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp White Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Ginger Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Msg Msg Makes this recipe so much more flavorful
Salt &Pepper Mix
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Five-spice Powder
- 1/4 tsp White Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400f(200c).
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and pat dry each piece.
- Mix garlic powder, white, pepper, ginger powder, salt, and msg in a bowl to create the spice mix.
- Season the tofu cubes with the spice mix and toss them with potato starch until evenly coated.
- Allow the tofu cubes to sit in the potato starch for 8-10 minutes to absorb moisture.
- Toss the coated tofu cubes in 2 tbsp of neutral of frying oil.
- Air-frying:
- Place the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they’re not touching.
- brush each tofu piece with the reserved oil.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until tofu is golden brown and crispy.
- Preparing the salt and pepper mix:
- Mix salt ,five-spice powder, and white pepper in another bowl to create the salt and pepper mix.
- Sauteing the vegetables and tofu:
- In a skillet, heat 1 tsp oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic, diced jalapenos, and chopped green onions.
- Saute until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes
- Add the air-fried tofu pieces to the skillet.
- Sprinkle the salt and pepper mixture over the tofu cubes, to taste, tossing to coat evenly.
- Serving:
- Serve hot !
- You can easily reheat this recipe in the air fryer.
