Preheat your air fryer to 400f(200c).
Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and pat dry each piece.
Mix garlic powder, white, pepper, ginger powder, salt, and msg in a bowl to create the spice mix.
Season the tofu cubes with the spice mix and toss them with potato starch until evenly coated.
Allow the tofu cubes to sit in the potato starch for 8-10 minutes to absorb moisture.
Toss the coated tofu cubes in 2 tbsp of neutral of frying oil.
Air-frying:
Place the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they're not touching.
brush each tofu piece with the reserved oil.
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until tofu is golden brown and crispy.
Preparing the salt and pepper mix:
Mix salt ,five-spice powder, and white pepper in another bowl to create the salt and pepper mix.
Sauteing the vegetables and tofu:
In a skillet, heat 1 tsp oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic, diced jalapenos, and chopped green onions.
Saute until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes
Add the air-fried tofu pieces to the skillet.
Sprinkle the salt and pepper mixture over the tofu cubes, to taste, tossing to coat evenly.
Serving:
Serve hot !
